Kitchen display system (KDS) for restaurants
A kitchen display system, or KDS, shows incoming orders on a screen in the kitchen. The Menuté kitchen display lists confirmed table orders in three columns: new, in progress and ready, with the table number, the dishes and any notes. It is part of the Pro plan at €39 per month.
How it works
- 1
A guest orders and your team confirms
The kitchen display shows an order once someone on your team has confirmed it in the dashboard.
- 2
The order appears under New
The card shows the table number, the order number, each dish with its quantity, and any note the guest wrote on a dish. A timer shows how long ago the order was confirmed.
- 3
The cook starts preparing
The cook taps Start Preparing and the order moves to In Progress.
- 4
The cook marks it ready
Mark Ready moves the order to Ready to Serve. Once it has been served, Mark Served takes it off the screen.

Frequently asked questions
- What is a kitchen display system?
- A kitchen display system, or KDS, is a screen in the kitchen that shows incoming orders in place of paper tickets.
- Which plan includes the kitchen display?
- Pro, at €39 per month. It is not part of Starter.
- Do I need special hardware?
- No special hardware from Menuté. The kitchen display is a page in your dashboard, so any screen with a web browser can show it.
- Which orders show up on it?
- Table orders that someone on your team has confirmed. Orders still waiting for confirmation, and orders already served, are not shown. It lists today's orders only.
- Can the kitchen see notes such as no onions?
- Yes. A note the guest wrote on a dish appears under that dish, highlighted. A note written for the whole order is not shown on this screen; your staff see it on the orders screen.
- Do I need table ordering to use it?
- The display shows table orders, so the two work together. Both are included in Pro.
